Interpol searches for missing Sutil hypercar due to legal issues.
Adrian Sutil is at the center of a peculiar international investigation following the disappearance of a collection of his luxury cars, which includes a rare Koenigsegg One:1. According to Auto Motor und Sport, "nine exclusive vehicles owned by the former Formula 1 driver Adrian Sutil have disappeared without a trace," leading to a global search coordinated by Interpol.
The report outlines a dramatic series of events that took place in Monaco. "Several men persistently demanded that the cars be returned from his garage," it stated. "The family was reportedly threatened and intimidated, allowing the men to remove the vehicles without any resistance."
One of the individuals allegedly "claimed affiliation with the Russian Wagner Group," and warnings of physical violence were issued if the family did not comply. Special attention is given to Sutil’s Koenigsegg One:1, of which only seven have ever been produced. "The Koenigsegg One:1 had a purchase price of 3.3 million euros and is now valued at over ten million euros," the report indicated.
Despite its uniqueness, the car has not been found. "A distinctive vehicle like the Koenigsegg One:1 is nearly impossible to sell on the open market," the German report added. Investigators believe the car may have been transported to Eastern Europe or Russia, but "have yet to achieve any significant progress."
The case is additionally complicated by Sutil’s own predicament. "Adrian Sutil is currently in custody on suspicion of fraud," the report mentioned.
