All tickets for the "24 Hours of Nürburgring" are sold out.
This upcoming weekend, the traditional 24-hour race will take place at the "North Loop" of the Nürburgring, featuring Max Verstappen for the first time. European motorsport fans, especially German supporters, consider this event historic, which has directly impacted ticket sales – there are almost none left.
A sell-out is expected for this marathon, where one hundred and fifty cars will start in 2026, marking the first time in its history. Moreover, the organizers anticipate that the unprecedented public interest may lead to undesirable consequences, which is why an announcement was made last night on the official pages of the racetrack on social media:
"All tickets for the weekend are sold out – for the first time in the history of the '24 Hours of Nürburgring.' There will be no additional sales next Saturday! If you do not have a ticket, do not come here under any circumstances!
If you still want to be here, there are tickets available for individual days of the weekend, and it is best to purchase them from our website. And one more important point: please arrive at the racetrack as early as possible!"
The 24-hour race is held on a combined track configuration, meaning it includes not only the Nordschleife but also part of the racetrack where Formula 1 stages were held. It would seem that with a ring length of 25.278 km, there should be enough space to accommodate everyone, however, as indicated by the organizers' announcement, almost all tickets are already sold out.
Those that can still be purchased grant access to the racetrack only on specific days: Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. There are also no tickets left for Saturday, May 16.
The main issue is the limited capacity of the parking lots and campgrounds located around the track. Problems are also anticipated due to traffic jams that will inevitably arise on the roads leading to the Nürburgring, especially on Saturday, the day of the race.
These problems are likely to affect only those who arrive at the track on Thursday, for example, in a camper – a "house on wheels," and stay until late Sunday evening. The organizers recommend doing so, but this advice can only be taken by holders of such tickets, which have long been sold out.
"Naturally, we are pleased with such a reaction from fans, both old and new, which simply overwhelms us this year! – quotes Walter Hornung, the race director, in Auto Motor und Sport. – At the same time, we are, of course, closely cooperating with the management of the racetrack and local authorities to maintain order and ensure safety for all visitors. Therefore, for the first time in more than half a century of the '24 Hours of Nürburgring,' we are forced to limit the number of tickets."
The weather during the weekend is expected to be quite cool: nighttime temperatures may drop to 1-2 degrees, and during the day on the race day, the air will warm up only to +11, but it should be warmer on Sunday – up to +15. And no rain is forecasted, at least for now.
