Indy 500: All four McLaren cars will be different colors
Tomorrow, at the famous oval racetrack in Indianapolis, training sessions will begin ahead of the Indy 500 race, and today the Arrow McLaren team unveiled the livery of their four cars. Three of them will be driven by the team's main drivers – Pato O'Ward, Christian Lundgaard, and Nolan Siegel, while the fourth will be piloted by 45-year-old Ryan Hunter-Reay, who won this classic race in 2014. By the way, he will be participating in it for the 18th time. All four cars are designed differently: the common colors are orange and white, while the other design elements are in different colors representing various sponsors. According to McLaren Racing's press service, the campaign, which aims, of course, to win the Indy 500, is under the slogan Unfinished Business.
Fifty years ago, in 1976, this race was won by Johnny Rutherford, driving a McLaren M16, and in total, cars built by McLaren have won this race three times, and now the team is striving for a fourth success. Tony Kanaan, the team leader, said: "We have unfinished business at the Indy 500. The new car designs and the Unfinished Business campaign reflect our desire to win this race, as it is the biggest event in the world of motorsport. I can't wait to see these cars hit the track, and we will continue to fight for the long-awaited victory at the Indianapolis racetrack." After four days of practice, qualifying will take place on May 16 and 17, and the race itself will be held on May 24. In 2026, the Indy 500 will take place for the 110th time.
