Verstappen excitement causes ticket chaos at Nurburgring.

Max Verstappen is drawing such large crowds outside of Formula 1 that the organizers of this weekend’s Nurburgring 24 Hours are cautioning fans against traveling without tickets. With Formula 1 currently experiencing another break due to the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix, and with ongoing debates over the 2026 regulations, attention is increasingly focused on Verstappen’s awaited appearance at the Nordschleife driving a Mercedes-AMG GT3.

Ticket demand has surged, resulting in all weekend tickets being completely sold out for the first time in the event's history. Saturday single-day tickets are also fully booked, and organizers report that remaining tickets for other days are quickly vanishing. On Monday morning, significant traffic congestion was already evident near the Nurburgring as fans hurried to secure camping spots ahead of the official event start.

Auto Motor und Sport noted, "One would assume that a racetrack measuring 25.378 kilometers would provide ample space for all fans. However, the excitement surrounding Formula 1 star Max Verstappen is causing the Nordschleife to be overwhelmed."

The organizers have implemented unprecedented measures, stating, "The ticket office will not open on Saturday." The German publication clarified that "anyone arriving at the Nurburgring without a ticket will be turned away at the gates." Officials are advising fans to arrive early and carpool to alleviate pressure on the narrow access roads surrounding the Eifel circuit.

The report explained, "The need for this restriction is mainly due to the limited availability of parking and camping facilities." Race director Walter Hornung acknowledged that the organizers have never encountered such a situation. "We are thrilled with the overwhelming response from both longtime and new fans, which has really surprised us this year," he stated. "At the same time, we are working closely with the Nurburgring and the authorities to ensure that all visitors have a safe and organized experience."

"For the first time in the over 50-year history of the 24h Nurburgring, we have had to cap the number of tickets." Verstappen is set to share the Red Bull-branded Mercedes-AMG GT3 with Daniel Juncadella, Jules Gounon, and Lucas Auer.
