Would you be interested in owning a unique piece of automotive history? In just over a week, the last seven Saabs still located at the former production facility in Trollhättan, Sweden, will be up for auction. This collection includes a mix of pre-production vehicles dating back to 2014, and although the brand has seen a partial revival under the National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) name, some of these cars still operate on traditional gasoline.
There are actually eight vehicles being auctioned this month, but only seven of them carry the Saab name. Among them are three 9-3 models from 2014, which are pre-production units that would have served as prototypes for the gasoline cars NEVS intended to sell to bridge the gap while developing its new electric lineup.
Allegedly, the three remaining 2014 prototypes were designated for crash-testing, but they were never utilized.
The last Saab vehicles depart from the factory – a significant moment
The other models in the collection are fully electric. One is a pre-production version of the 2019 9-3 EV that was supposed to be manufactured in China, while another features all-wheel drive. Additionally, NEVS had developed a self-driving prototype of the 9-3 and one equipped with a range extender.
The final vehicle in the auction is a Hengchi 5 crossover, which was produced and marketed by Evergrande; however, this one is simply a prototype.

Interested? How do you feel about arranging a spontaneous trip to Sweden?
Just kidding, mostly. You don’t have to be there in person to take part in the auction on May 21, but you will need to create an account with Klaravik. If you’re outside of Sweden, you must register as a business to participate, according to the listing. Those in Sweden can register as private individuals without needing to establish a business.
