Alpine confirmed the contract with Jason Somerville.

We reported that Alpine signed a contract with the head of the aerodynamics department at FIA, Jason Somerville. Today, the team's press service from Enstone officially confirmed this and named the specialist's position.

Jason Somerville started working from today, May 15, as the deputy technical director. He will report directly to the executive technical director, David Sanchez, and will focus not only on refining the aerodynamics of the current A526 car but also on future projects.

Jason Somerville: "I am very excited to return to Enstone and work with Flavio Briatore, Steve Nielsen, and David Sanchez in this new role. I haven't been involved in racing with a team for the last few years, and I really want to get back into the thick of it, fighting for milliseconds and battling with competitors for points and, hopefully, trophies. I hope to contribute to the team's success in the foreseeable future."

David Sanchez: "We are very pleased that such a highly qualified and experienced specialist as Jason has joined the team, and this will allow us to continue to progress steadily.

The team has done an outstanding job this season, but we all understand that this is just the beginning, so no one intends to rest on their laurels. Jason's joining our technical team will allow us to take another step towards improving results."
