The Canada Grand Prix is not completely sold out, even with the extended sprint weekend.
"We have increased capacity in several areas."
Canadian GP organizers acknowledge that this year’s Montreal event is not entirely sold out, even with the inclusion of Formula 2, F1 Academy, and the newly introduced sprint format at the renovated circuit. According to Le Journal de Montreal, many terrace, suite, and grandstand packages are still available just days before Formula 1 arrives at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. This comes after significant ticket price hikes implemented following last year’s race, with reports indicating that some three-day grandstand packages have increased by nearly 20 percent. Individual day tickets are also still accessible.
"We have increased capacity in several sectors and offerings this year, especially in the suites and on the CGV Experience platform at the beach," stated Canadian GP president and CEO Jean-Philippe Paradis, alongside COO Sandrine Garneau. "There are still general admission tickets available, along with the CGV Experience featuring concerts, terrace seating, and our hospitality club packages, which are not designated for corporate groups." The promoter has developed significant new hospitality structures around the circuit as part of a long-term expansion plan linked to Montreal’s contract extension through 2035.
"We have been discussing this for several years, especially after observing hospitality structures around the world," Garneau remarked. "We needed to enhance our competitiveness and modernity by increasing our capacity with the presence of permanent paddocks. We are hosting a major sporting event, so we require the proper infrastructure."
This year’s event is particularly notable as Montreal will host a sprint weekend for the first time. "Fans in Montreal wish to see the top drivers globally," Paradis expressed. "Personally, I find it incredible to witness genuine competition rather than people merely testing their cars. I agree with Stefano (Domenicali)—I recommend all other organizers follow this approach because it adds significance to the weekend and creates a sort of ‘Super Saturday’." The enhanced support program this year also includes Formula 2, which was added to the Montreal lineup at the last minute following the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian rounds earlier in the season.
