Williams made a number of important personnel appointments.
Williams announced that Pierce Tinn has joined the team, previously serving as the Chief Operating Officer at McLaren, and in Grove, he will take on the role of Head of Optimization and Planning. He will start working in his new position in August.
The team also announced a number of other important personnel appointments.
Pierce Tinn: "I am excited to join the Williams F1 Team at this truly interesting time. The team has set a clear goal to reach championship level in all areas, and I am eager to contribute as one of its leadership members as soon as possible.
I had a great time at McLaren, helping the team return to the top, and I hope we can achieve the same at Williams."
In addition to Tinn, three technical specialists have joined the team. Claire Simpson has been appointed Head of Aerodynamic Research – she previously worked at Mercedes for 12 years. At Williams, she will closely collaborate with Juan Molina, the Chief Aerodynamicist.
Fred Judd has moved from Mercedes' engine division, where he was involved in the development program for next-generation power units at Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains. He is considered an expert in engine and chassis integration and will lead the Systems Optimization department at Williams, which was established last year.
Steve Booth was previously the Chief Engineer at Alpine F1, and in his new role in Grove, he will take on the position of Head of Chassis Development. He worked at the team in Enstone for over two decades, and at Williams, he will be responsible for all operational matters related to car design.
James Vowles, Team Principal: "We continue to invest in areas such as human resources, manufacturing, and technological processes, and I am pleased to welcome Pierce Tinn to the Williams F1 Team.
We have a clear goal ahead of us: to build a team capable of competing for wins in the championship, and Pierce has very recent experience in tackling such challenges.
I also welcome Claire, Fred, and Steve – we are bringing the most talented people from across the paddock to work with the team, and these appointments are strategic in nature. The new specialists will help strengthen the foundations we have laid in previous years and enable the team to reach the next level."
