Before the start of the Friday practice, the FIA confirmed the replacement of power unit components on 12 cars. The drivers of Racing Bulls, Haas, and Cadillac received new internal combustion engines and turbines, new MGU-K motor-generators were installed in Aston Martin, and the Ferrari drivers received new batteries, among other replacements. All these replacements are planned, and no penalties will follow.
