Prost assaulted at his residence, Salo recuperates from knife wounds.
F1 icon Alain Prost has reportedly sustained injuries during a violent robbery at his residence near Lake Geneva.
As reported by Blick newspaper, a number of masked assailants broke into the four-time Formula 1 world champion’s villa in Nyon earlier this week.
The 71-year-old is said to have sustained minor head injuries during the altercation, while one of his sons was allegedly coerced at gunpoint to open the family's safe.
Swiss police have initiated a significant manhunt involving canine units and forensic investigators, with French authorities also notified due to concerns that the gang may have fled across the border.
The precise amount stolen is still unknown, although reports have highlighted Prost’s long-standing connection with luxury watchmaker Richard Mille.
According to Blick, Prost has since returned to Dubai, where he also spends part of his time.
This incident occurs amid increasing worries regarding so-called ’homejackings’ aimed at affluent residents in the Lake Geneva area, with Swiss reports indicating that 18 similar cases were documented in Geneva alone during 2025.
Meanwhile, former Formula 1 driver Mika Salo is also recuperating after a strange suspected stabbing incident in Bangkok.
The 59-year-old informed Ilta-Sanomat that he sustained a deep leg wound while crossing a pedestrian crossing near his hotel after a moped rider brushed past him.
"The doctors had to stitch some muscle and then cover it with skin," Salo stated.
"In total, there are 28 stitches."
Doctors believe the injury may have been intentionally inflicted with a knife.
Salo mentioned that local hospitals later informed him of several similar incidents occurring in the same area that evening. "Fortunately, this one hit my leg and not anywhere else," he remarked.
