Di Montezemolo did not like the first Ferrari electric car.
On the eve, Ferrari introduced its first electric car – Luce. The new model is equipped with four electric motors, with a total power of 1050 hp. Luce accelerates from zero to sixty in 2.5 seconds, with a top speed of 310 km/h, and a range of 530 kilometers on a full battery charge.
The price of the five-seater electric car is also interesting – 550,000 euros. The design of Ferrari Luce was handled by the agency LoveFrom, founded by former Apple design chief Jony Ive.
Next week, Ferrari will begin accepting pre-orders for Luce, but not everyone is impressed with the new model. Shares of Ferrari on the Milan Stock Exchange opened with an 8% drop, while on the New York Stock Exchange, the automaker's shares lost more than 4%. Besides investors, former company president Luca di Montezemolo is also not thrilled with Ferrari's first electric car.
“If I say what I really think, I will harm Ferrari,” Luca di Montezemolo emotionally reacted to the request from the Italian news agency Askanews to comment on Ferrari Luce. “We risk destroying the myth, and I am very sorry. I hope they at least remove the 'Prancing Horse' emblem from the car.”
