Carlos Sainz: Everything needs to be done perfectly on Saturday.
On Friday, the Williams drivers did not make it into the top ten, but they are hopeful for what’s to come…
Carlos Sainz (12th): “Overall, it was a tough Friday. The sessions were constantly interrupted by yellow and red flags, and with 22 cars on the track, the traffic was quite intense. Nevertheless, I managed to set a few fast laps and more or less complete our program. We were just a little short of the top ten, but to make it in by the end of Saturday, we need to make progress overnight and execute everything perfectly tomorrow.”
Alex Albon (13th): “Overall, Friday went quite well. When there are 22 cars on the track, it’s hard to get a clean lap. The track has become a bit bumpier than last year, and I felt the car sliding a lot, so tomorrow we will focus on the car setup. In the two practice sessions, we were around 11th place, so I’m optimistic for Saturday. In Monaco, of course, qualifying is everything – the first session promises to be challenging due to traffic, but I hope we can make the most of it and secure a good starting position for the race.”
