Wolff: It was a great day for Formula 1 overall.

James Vowles, head of Williams, summarized the Monaco Grand Prix, in which Alex Albon finished in 8th place, while Carlos Sainz was also in contention for points but did not finish after a collision with rival cars…

James Vowles: “After a race like this, we are experiencing quite complex emotions. I am very happy for Alex, who confidently navigated this Grand Prix, acted as a team player, and earned very important points.

Carlos's retirement disappointed me, as he was also on track for a good result, showing great pace; however, after his retirement, there was a feeling that it was just unfair.

Nevertheless, for Formula 1 as a whole, it was a great day, as the race in Monaco was very interesting and did not resemble a procession, although it could have gone that way.

We continue to progress; just think about the level we were at the beginning of the year and compare it to how we raced on three such different tracks as Miami, Montreal, and Monaco. In all three cases, we fought for points and continue to make improvements and upgrade the car – another step in this direction, albeit a small one, will be taken at the Barcelona stage.

We are also preparing to take a number of next steps, which will happen up until the August break. Meanwhile, our competitors from Alpine and Racing Bulls are ahead of us, performing well and earning more points, but I am confident that we will manage to increase the car's speed, and we will be able to change the course of events in the championship.”
