Begunovich will replace Hamilton in the first practice.
Ferrari confirmed a driver change in the first session of free practice for the Barcelona-Catalonia Grand Prix. This change is in accordance with the regulations, which require each team to provide a car to a driver with fewer than two Grand Prix starts four times during the season. Each of the main drivers must give up their seat twice.
In Barcelona, it will be Lewis Hamilton's turn – for one hour he will give up his seat to Dino Beganovic, a participant in the Ferrari Racing Academy who competes in Formula 2. For the 21-year-old Swede, this will be an introduction to the SF-26, but not to Formula 1. Dino has already participated in Friday practices in 2025 in Bahrain and Austria.
Frederic Vasseur, team principal: "We arrive in Barcelona after two rounds where we demonstrated a promising level of competitiveness. In Monaco and Canada, we managed to achieve good results, but we understand that there is still a lot of work ahead, and we need to remain focused on our own progress.
As usual, our goal is to maximize the potential of the car and continue moving forward."
