Hamilton desires the Ferrari cockpit to be painted red.

"My cockpit happens to be white"

Lewis Hamilton has shared that one aspect of his Ferrari continues to trouble him - the cockpit's color. Following his significant victory with the Italian team in Barcelona, the seven-time world champion reflected on his childhood memories of watching Michael Schumacher secure his first win for Ferrari three decades ago. "I would have been at home on my couch watching that race," Hamilton remembered. "I was 12. Just looking at that red car and wondering, 'What’s it like sitting in that red cockpit?'"

After joining Ferrari, Hamilton finally got his answer but faced an unexpected letdown. "My cockpit happens to be white, which I’m not too thrilled about," he chuckled. "I wished it to be red like Michael’s. I’ll get it back to red at some point." The Brit refers to the white cockpit surround and engine cover that Ferrari introduced this year in response to fan criticism regarding the blue-on-red design of the main sponsor, HP.

Hamilton expressed relief that he at least has a red suit. "Wearing that red suit, standing in first place in front of that incredible team, was truly amazing to see and witness the joy in their eyes," he stated.
