That sound you just heard was your financial advisor cringing as you mull over the decision to purchase the revived Ram TRX.
On Monday, orders opened for the 2027 Ram 1500 TRX, and the Hellcat-powered truck comes with a hefty price tag. Specifically, it will be $102,790, which includes a hefty $2,795 destination fee.
This price refers to the standard model. If you're interested in the limited-run Bloodshot Night Edition package (as shown above), you'll need to shell out an additional $9,995. This upgrade features a hand-painted Blacktop upper with a Flame Red hood stripe, exterior splash graphics (a nod to the '90s!), red interior highlights, and wheels capable of beadlock.
Ram promptly highlighted that the TRX (along with its turbocharged inline-six RHO variant) is the only high-performance off-road truck equipped with a Level 2 Plus hands-free driver-assist system, referred to by Stellantis as Hands-Free Active Drive Assist, which serves as a jab at the Ford Raptor.
The revived TRX comes with the renowned supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine, familiar from the Hellcats, now producing 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Ram stated that with full-time four-wheel drive (which is standard) and Launch Control, the truck can sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 118 mph.
How long the reincarnated Hellcat-powered TRX will remain on the market is uncertain. Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis mentioned to The Drive, “Call Washington” when asked about it.
