Man Operating Oversized Banana Stopped by Police in Montana

But sometimes, we switch things up and share lighthearted, car-related content because it's entertaining. This is one of those occasions. A large banana was recently stopped by police in Montana, and as noted by the Cowboy State Daily, this wasn’t the first instance.

      According to the Montana State Police, the banana-shaped vehicle and its driver, Steve Braithwaite, were pulled over near Billings due to part of the license plate being obscured. He did not receive a citation. Additionally, the plate reads “SPLIT.”

      “We’ve pulled over speeders, distracted drivers, and even some unique vehicles… but this one truly stands out. The Big Banana Car was detained while cruising near Billings today. Although it may be visually appealing, traffic laws apply to all vehicles. 😎 🍌 Safe travels, Montana,” posted the Montana State Police on their Facebook page.

      Reports state that Braithwaite has been stopped hundreds of times during the decade he’s been driving his banana car across the country. He believes that during the initial years he owned it, he was among the most frequently pulled-over drivers in America.

      “Driving around in a banana and receiving smiles and waves from people has a positive impact on me. It really does something wonderful,” he shared with the outlet.

      He even mentioned being stopped once for “peeling out,” which was, naturally, a joke.

      Another report indicates that Braithwaite started building the fiberglass banana in 2008 and completed it in 2011. It’s modeled after a 1993 Ford F-150 and measures about 23 feet long.
