Max Verstappen: We are lacking speed
Red Bull Racing brought an updated car to Austria. The team had high expectations for it, but after the Friday practice sessions, Max Verstappen and Isaac Hajar were reticent and noted that the car still lacks speed.
Max Verstappen (4th): "It was a tough day – it turned out to be not easy to find the right balance. We need to work on the grip of both the front and rear wheels with the track. We need to find a compromise to achieve a higher pace from the car. At the moment, it looks like we are lacking speed. We'll see what we can do."
Isaac Hajar (7th): "I wouldn't say that the updates completely changed our car. It feels like it handles about the same, so we need to keep working to close the gap. At the beginning of the season, the car was quite slow, but it occasionally 'came alive' in qualifying, and we haven't solved all the problems yet. Today in practice, the car lacked grip with the track, which is strange since we usually don't have significant issues with that."
