Barcelona and Portimão may host races at the end of the season.

After the forced cancellation of the spring Grands Prix of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia due to military actions in the region, the calendar for the current season remains open. The management of Formula 1 is considering several options for the end of the season, which is supposed to finish with two races in the Middle East – in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. The idea of moving the race in Bahrain to the end of the season, creating a series of three consecutive Grands Prix: Qatar - Abu Dhabi - Bahrain, did not receive support. The logistics company DHL, as well as Audi and Mercedes, refuse to go to the region of the smoldering conflict, which could flare up at any moment. In response, Formula 1 proposed two options for discussion to the teams. The first: cancel the final races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi and finish the season with a double-header in Las Vegas, resulting in a calendar that will include 21 Grands Prix instead of 24. The second: finish the season with races in Portimão and Barcelona. The organizers of the races are ready to host them. A decision will be made during the days of the Belgian Grand Prix in mid-July.
