Hülkenberg: The podium in 2025 left glorious memories

The Audi F1 factory team believes that there were signs of progress in the previous stages of the season and hopes to build on this trend during the British Grand Prix.

Alan McNish, Racing Director: “During the last few race weekends, we have seen signs of progress – this is encouraging, although it is clear that there is still a lot of work ahead. Nevertheless, it is important that we continue to move in the right direction.

In terms of team performance, the stage in Austria was one of the best, and to progress, we need to build on this trend. Speaking of the car, we see signs of increased efficiency, and now the task is to turn all of this into concrete results.

The stage at Silverstone always holds a special place on the calendar; it has its own unique energy, and we will have a great opportunity to consolidate the knowledge we have gained since the beginning of the season. I also have a significant moment awaiting me, as it was at this racetrack in 1987 that I first started a race (in the national Formula Ford), and now I feel proud to return to Silverstone in a new role.”

Nico Hülkenberg: “In several previous races, we have seen a number of positive signs, even if the results do not always reflect the potential of our car. It is important to continue working hard, act clearly and cohesively, and try to extract everything the R26 is capable of.

If we succeed in this, then results will follow. I have always liked the Silverstone track, and last year's podium left me with great memories.

The upcoming stage includes a sprint, so there will be a lot to do, and literally every lap is important. We hope to build on the positive trends and turn them into a decent result.”

Gabriel Bortoleto: “Over the past few stages, we have progressed and learned something new about the car each time – this helps to fully unlock its potential.

I finished 11th in three consecutive races, which indicates that we are regularly in contention for points. There is hope that we will soon be able to move up one position. What we saw in Austria is encouraging – this was also aided by technical innovations. I hope the trend continues in Silverstone.

I enjoyed racing at this racetrack in youth series, and last year as well. Since the weekend program includes a sprint, it is very important to quickly and effectively get to work. It will be interesting to see what we can achieve this weekend.”
