Lance Stroll received a penalty with a loss of grid positions.
On Sunday before the start of the British Grand Prix, the Aston Martin team changed the power unit components on Lance Stroll's car. The Canadian driver received his fifth energy store and his fifth control electronics unit, exceeding the allowable number of components for the season. For these changes, the stewards penalized Stroll with a loss of ten places on the grid. Stroll qualified twenty-first, so he will effectively lose only one position, letting Fernando Alonso pass ahead.
