Pato O'Ward has asked McLaren to release him from all responsibilities in Formula 1, ending his long-standing role as a reserve driver.

Pato O'Ward: "I am grateful for the experience and everything I learned in the world of Formula 1. Driving these cars, feeling what they are capable of, especially in recent years, has been incredibly interesting. But now I am at a different stage in my life, and I am no longer concerned about it.
I see no reason to continue working as a reserve driver in Formula 1, as I am experiencing a wonderful period in IndyCar. I love these races, and this is where I want to compete."
