Hadjar safe at Red Bull despite uncertainty surrounding Verstappen.

      Isack Hadjar now seems increasingly likely to stay with Red Bull in 2027, despite ongoing speculation about the future of his teammate Max Verstappen. Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies praised Hadjar's professionalism and progress in an interview with Bild at Spa, noting that the French driver had what Mekies considered his best race for the senior team on Sunday.

      "The car was certainly capable of competing for P2 and P3," Mekies stated. "Isack’s speed proves that. This has been a significant factor for us this year, as the second car is also performing well. It’s crucial to have two strong drivers, and we now have that."

      Former Formula 1 driver Timo Glock views Hadjar as one of the standout performers of the season. "He’s one of the standout individuals of the year for me," said the Sky Deutschland analyst. "Looking back, everyone felt hopeless in the face of Max Verstappen, but he steps up and declares, 'I’m ready for the challenge and I will succeed.' He continually demonstrates that every weekend. He sometimes matches Max Verstappen’s pace, and his race speed was exceptional. It was an absolutely fantastic weekend for him."

      Hadjar also played a vital supporting role during qualifying at Spa, giving Verstappen two slipstreams that helped the Dutch driver achieve P2 on the grid. Viaplay analyst Tom Coronel believes this collaboration could be advantageous for Hadjar in the future. "With such a gesture from Hadjar, it’s a case of 'if you give, you get,'" he remarked. "You build a lot of goodwill and credit."

      Coronel remains uncertain about whether Hadjar will become a race winner or world champion but emphasizes the value of learning alongside Verstappen. "Be cautious, but not just yet," he advised. "The best scenario is being teammates with the fastest driver. As Max’s teammate, there's so much to learn."
