Max Verstappen: Isaac did an excellent job and helped me.

Max Verstappen showed the second fastest time in the qualifying session for the Belgian Grand Prix. Immediately after the session, the four-time world champion thanked his teammate Isaac Hadjar, who provided him with a slipstream in the third sector during the final attempt. Isaac himself did not set a time in the final session, as he will lose positions at the start due to a power unit component replacement.

Max Verstappen (2nd): "The slipstream from my teammate definitely helped me. Otherwise, I wouldn't be standing here in second place, and I would be sixth or so. So yes, Isaac did a great job today. He knew he would be starting at the back of the grid, but he did well by giving me a tow in the final sector, and thanks to that, I achieved this result.

I'm sure on Sunday I'll be looking more in the rearview mirrors, but today we achieved a good result. The car has been good throughout the weekend, but of course, we're not at the same level as Kimi. Nevertheless, the team is happy with the starting position in the front row.

It's always been difficult to manage tire conditions over a long distance on this track, but I'll do everything I can. Let's see if I can hold my position."

Isaac Hadjar (10th): "For me, the qualifying was boring, but at least I helped Max secure second place. Max was driving excellently anyway, but it was right to do what I did. I'm happy for the team, happy for him.

My main work awaits me tomorrow. I will start, I don't know from which position, probably last. But I'm ready to make up for it, and we set up the car mostly with a focus on the race. Let's see how it goes."
