The Malaysian Grand Prix is being considered as one of the options to replace the Bahrain stage if it does not take place again due to the escalation of conflict in the Middle East. At the beginning of the season, the Bahrain stage was canceled due to military actions, then the situation stabilized and a new date was reserved for it – October 2, between Baku and Singapore, but now uncertainty has arisen again – and Formula 1 is forced to look for alternatives. A decision on the fate of the Bahrain Grand Prix may be made in the coming days – just this weekend, the World Motor Sport Council will decide on the holding of WEC stages in the Middle East, postponed earlier this year. Finding a replacement for Bahrain is difficult due to logistical issues. Citing its sources, The Race reports that the stage could be held in Sepang – the track is located near Singapore and, due to its proximity to the airport, they can ensure the event takes place on short notice. The fate of the final races of the season in Qatar and Abu Dhabi is also not yet determined – they are not canceled, but Formula 1 is looking for a replacement. The most optimal option is considered to be holding the race in Portuguese Portimão – December 6, two weeks after the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
