Oscar Piastri: There were no updates on my car.

      On Friday in Hungary, Oscar Piastri missed the first practice session, giving his car to Leonardo Fornaroli. In the second session, the Australian returned to the wheel of the MCL40 and showed the eighth fastest time. Oscar mentioned that the day was challenging, and there were no technical updates on his car.

      Lando Norris completed both sessions and showed the third fastest time in the second, trailing leader Lewis Hamilton by 0.499 seconds.

      Lando Norris (3rd): "It was a tough day – both practice sessions were quite challenging for us. In the second session, we were able to improve, but there’s still a lot of work ahead.

      Today we used some new parts for the first time, and now we need to better understand how they work and how to get the most out of them. We realize that we won’t be able to immediately make up the gap to our competitors, so we need to keep working hard. But in some areas, we are already moving in the right direction.

      In the evening, we will try to analyze the performance of the new parts better and do everything possible to improve tomorrow."

      Oscar Piastri (8th): "It was a very, very challenging session. The conditions on the track were difficult due to strong winds, and there was a lack of grip on the sections with new asphalt. The track conditions are tough, and missing the first practice made the task noticeably harder.

      There were no updates on my car today. It seems that everything worked as we expected on Lando's car, which is good. I don’t think the updates completely changed the character of the car, but we didn’t expect that, although we wouldn’t have minded.

      We’ll see how the updates work on my car tomorrow. I hope to have a successful day.

      It's hard to assess the competitive landscape right now. The Ferrari drivers were very fast in both sessions, but Lando looked good in the second practice. As for Mercedes, it’s still not very clear. We’ll see what happens tomorrow. If we have a good day, there will be opportunities."

      Leonardo Fornaroli (16th in the first session): "The practice in the MCL40 went well. I completed 29 laps, and after a month off, I was able to get into the rhythm quite quickly. The pace on Medium tires was good from the first laps, but I had a wheel lock-up on Softs. This is useful experience, from which we need to draw conclusions.

      We also tested a new version of the rear wing, and it worked as the team expected. This is encouraging.

      Overall, I am satisfied with how the day went and how the team assessed my work. I learned a lot, gathered important data, and helped with the setup of the car for Oscar, which was my main task. Once again, I thank the team for the opportunity."
