The **2027 Audi Q9** is Audi's new flagship SUV, marking the largest SUV in the brand's history, with three rows of seating and cutting-edge technology.

**Notable size and style.** At 209 inches long, the Q9 surpasses rivals such as the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class in size.

**Technologically advanced interior.** It features a triple-screen arrangement, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, and a sizable glass roof equipped with PDLC technology.

**Strong performance.** The Q9 is powered by a twin-turbo V6, while the SQ9 comes with a V8, both utilizing quattro all-wheel drive.

**In summary:** The 2027 Audi Q9 establishes a new benchmark as Audi's largest and most technologically equipped SUV, merging luxury, spaciousness, and performance.

As Audi bids farewell to the A8 luxury sedan, it introduces its new main model, which, fittingly, is an SUV, given the automotive trends of 2026.

On Tuesday in New York, the **2027 Audi Q9** was unveiled as the brand's largest passenger vehicle, featuring three rows of seats suitable for adults, an expansive glass roof, turbocharged engines, an array of intricate technology, ample cargo space, and, of course, quattro all-wheel drive. The German manufacturer’s flagship will be available in U.S. dealerships just in time for the upcoming holiday season, starting at $89,095, including a $1,395 destination fee, with the SQ9 priced at $119,395.

The Q9 stands as Audi's largest production model at 209 inches in length, with a wheelbase of 123.5 inches, a width of 86.8 inches, and a height of 71.4 inches. For comparison, the discontinued A8L measured 209.5 inches in length but had a shorter wheelbase of 123.1 inches and lacked the three rows of seating or the Q9’s significant cargo capacity. The Q9 is roughly 3 inches shorter than a Cadillac Escalade, yet about 3 inches longer than the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class and over 5 inches longer than the BMW X7. An Audi representative mentioned that the Q9’s size is maximized for reasonable sales in Germany.

The Q9 will offer configurations for either six or seven passengers, with LATCH anchors on every second and third-row seat to accommodate families. The second-row seats can slide and tilt for easier access to the third row, which is spacious enough for adults. At 5-foot-10, I found adequate room for my legs and head even with a 6-foot-5 adult in the second row. Rear doors that open at a 90-degree angle facilitate entry and exit, although they do create large rear doors. Available power-operated doors can close at a touch of a button on the front touchscreen.

Families with sports equipment, luggage, or other items will appreciate the Q9's 19.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, expanding to 50.0 cubic feet with the third row folded down. Folding both the second and third rows results in a maximum cargo space of 87.7 cubic feet.

In terms of styling, Audi has reverted to a familiar design theme for its latest lineup. This new design language was first seen on the compact Q3 crossover in 2025, followed by the 2027 Q7 introduced in June. The Q9 adapts these design features while enhancing them. Up front, split lighting elements position horizontal LED daytime running lights above the headlights, which will be available with Audi’s new digital Matrix LED technology. The Q9's front is characterized by a grille filled with vertical slats, while S-Line and more powerful SQ9 models will have an egg-crate design. The D-pillar and other pillars stand more upright than in any previous Audi SUV. The Q9 has moved away from the clamshell tailgate previously seen on the Q5 and Q7, though it offers optional curved OLED taillights with three-dimensional effects and light signatures. Base models will feature 21-inch alloy wheels, with options for larger 22-inch and 23-inch wheels.

Audi unveiled the Q9's interior in May, revealing several surprises alongside a largely expected overall design. The dashboard design follows the A6 E-Tron model’s lead, featuring a triple-screen arrangement that integrates a digital gauge cluster and touchscreen infotainment system beneath a single piece of curved glass. A touchscreen for the front passenger comes standard. Most controls are found on the touchscreen, although a dedicated volume knob is included on the center console. Two wireless smartphone charging pads occupy the central area,
