Leonardo Fornaroli is a contender for Ocon's seat at Haas.

      Haas has not yet confirmed the lineup for 2027, but Oliver Berman's place in the team is guaranteed, as he is not only a protégé of Ferrari, whose engines are in Haas cars, but also looks confident behind the wheel. His teammate Esteban Ocon is not performing as confidently in 2026, and for several months now, there have been rumors in the paddock that Haas will end its collaboration with the French driver at the end of the season, especially since team principal Ayo Komatsu declined to comment on this matter in Hungary. One of the candidates for replacement is another participant in Ferrari's youth program, Rafael Camara, however, the main contender for Ocon's seat is not the Brazilian driver at all. According to GPBlog, the main candidate for a seat at Haas is McLaren reserve driver Leonardo Fornaroli. The British team is pleased with the Italian and wants to bring him into Formula 1 to gain experience, but there are no available spots at McLaren, so they are willing to support his move to Haas. At the same time, the American team is in a privileged position. There are few vacancies for 2027 in Formula 1, while there are more than enough good drivers willing to sign a contract to race. This gives Haas the opportunity to acquire a driver who might not even consider them in any other season.
