Toto Wolff urged not to overestimate McLaren's success.

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff urged against making far-reaching conclusions after McLaren's strong performance at the Hungarian Grand Prix. According to him, the current technical regulations allow teams to significantly improve with car updates, but this does not mean that the balance of power has changed.

Toto Wolff: "If you had asked artificial intelligence before the weekend in Hungary who would be the favorite in Budapest, it would have answered – McLaren. In recent years, this team has dominated at the Hungaroring, and if I'm not mistaken, they had a winning double in Hungary last season.

Therefore, we need to be cautious with conclusions after the race and not swing from one extreme to another, saying that one team has suddenly become incredibly fast while another has suddenly lost competitiveness.

Certainly, McLaren has made a step forward and remains in the fight. But we haven't brought updates for a long time, and it is now becoming clear that throughout the season, it will be the refinement of the car that will play a decisive role."
