Briatore: Formula 1 teams will cost $10 billion

      The head of Alpine, Flavio Briatore, believes that in the coming years, the value of Formula 1 teams will increase and reach an impressive sum of 10 billion US dollars. As an example, Briatore cited negotiations for the sale of 24% of the shares of the Alpine team, owned by the investment company Otro Capital. According to Flavio, the potential deal currently values the entire team at about 3.5 billion dollars. Flavio Briatore: "When I sold my stake in Benetton, the team was worth about 80 million dollars. Today, we are talking about 3.5-4 billion. Financial analysts say that in three to four years, the value of a Formula 1 team could reach 10 billion dollars. We have an offer to buy 24% of Otro shares, based on a valuation of the entire team at 3.2 billion dollars. The entire Renault is currently worth about 8.3 billion. This means that the value of our team is about 40-50% of the total value of the entire Renault company."
