Camara downplays increasing rumors surrounding Haas.

"You don’t really know at the moment."

Rafael Camara has downplayed the increasing rumors suggesting that Ferrari might position him at Haas in 2027 as a successor to Esteban Ocon. Given Ferrari's influence on the American team, the 21-year-old Brazilian has emerged as a top candidate, although there are others also associated with the precarious seat held by Ocon. Since joining the Ferrari academy in 2022, Camara has secured four pole positions and two victories in feature races during his debut season in Formula 2. "It’s good to see," he stated to F2’s official website when asked about the Formula 1 speculation. "You don’t really know at the moment, but it’s nice to have this, and to see that the dream is close." He added, "But at the same time, you don’t want to get too caught up in that because I’m still competing in a very important championship, and if you perform well, you're likely to get an opportunity." "So, for me, I’m just really concentrating on this year." Camara has already had multiple experiences testing Formula 1 cars for Ferrari. "Obviously, the dream is to be in Formula 1 full time," he remarked. "But it was something very emotional at that moment. At the same time, it’s your job. You try to enjoy it as much as possible, but you still need to perform well."
