Gwen Lagru said an emotional goodbye to Mercedes.

      Gwen Lagrue is a highly experienced driver coach, and we reported at the end of July that he is parting ways with Mercedes to lead the Red Bull junior program. He will take on this role in 2027, but he is no longer working in Brackley, and on his social media pages, Lagrue shared a touching farewell message in his own way.

      “The Hungarian Grand Prix was my last race with the Mercedes-AMG F1 Team,” writes the 50-year-old Frenchman. “After 11 unforgettable seasons, this wonderful chapter of my career has come to an end. When Toto Wolff invited me to the team, I could never have imagined what lay ahead.

      Every day we built together, developed, challenged ourselves, and we were always driven by the desire to help young talented drivers fully realize their potential. Looking back, I feel immense pride, but not just because of what we achieved – it was an honor for me to work with all these drivers.

      From Esteban Ocon and Nyck de Vries to George Russell and Kimi Antonelli, from Frederik Vesti and Doriane Pin to every young driver who entered the Mercedes junior program or is still part of it.

      Watching the development of young talents, seeing them grow into world-class professionals, has been one of the greatest privileges of my career. I hope you all continue to dream of achieving great goals, work hard, and enjoy every step you take on this journey. You have a fantastic team by your side, and they will always help you become better.
