Lawson: It's hard to talk about any expectations in F1.

      Liam Lawson is having the best season of his career in 2026. While he earned 38 points throughout the championship in 2025, after 11 rounds, the New Zealand Racing Bulls driver already has five more, placing him 9th in the individual standings.

      Speaking about his goals for the second half of the championship, Liam stated in an interview with the official championship website that his main aim is to consistently finish in the top ten:

      "If we're talking about the goal that I personally set for myself, it comes down to earning points as often as possible and getting the maximum out of the car. As for where I end up at the end of the season, that's where I'll end up. All of this will simply allow me to ensure that I've done everything I could."

      At the same time, Lawson does not have a contract for 2027, and he is not guaranteed a seat, especially since there are rumors in the paddock that Red Bull is looking to promote Bulgarian driver Nikola Tsolov, who has already won six races in his debut season in Formula 2 and is leading the junior championship.

      "I can't say that I'm trying to achieve any specific position by the end of the season or anything like that," Liam continued. "In Formula 1, it's hard to talk about expectations, especially when you're racing for a mid-level team. But if Racing Bulls can become the best team in the midfield, I think then we can say that we, the drivers, have done well with our tasks."
