IndyCar: Mick Schumacher crashed the car while he was in eighth place.
Today, Mick Schumacher had the chance to show his best result of the debut season in IndyCar, but he did not take advantage of it.
In qualifying on the new track laid out on the streets of the Canadian city of Markham, the Rahal Letterman Racing (RLL) driver, Mick, showed a quite respectable 11th result, soon after the start overtaking Graham Rahal, his teammate, and when the first pit stops began, he moved up to 8th position.
He was already catching up to David Malukas, who was in seventh, when on the 17th lap he made a mistake in turn 4 and crashed into the barriers at high speed, breaking not only the nose cone of his Dallara with the number 47 but also the front right suspension.
The last races of Schumacher with the RLL team, which will only field two cars in the championship next season, have attracted a lot of attention, as the son of the seven-time world champion is negotiating with potential new employers (reportedly, Meyer Shank Racing), and today's crash could very well affect his chances of staying in the American series for another season.
Meanwhile, the race continues, and currently, it is being led by Schumacher's RLL teammate, young British driver Louis Foster, who won the qualifying the day before.
