Isack Hadjar is anticipated to be absent from this weekend’s Dutch GP due to a wrist injury, with Liam Lawson set for an unexpected return to Red Bull. As reported by De Telegraaf’s Erik van Haren, Hadjar was hurt during a gym session while preparing for Zandvoort and is now unlikely to be in good enough condition to compete. Consequently, Lawson is prepared to rejoin Red Bull's main team alongside Max Verstappen. The New Zealander briefly partnered with Verstappen in 2025 before being reassigned to Racing Bulls after just two races. Yuki Tsunoda, the reserve driver for Red Bull who has been rumored to be moving to Indycar in 2027, is expected to take Lawson's place at Racing Bulls if Hadjar is confirmed out. Hadjar has had a strong enough season to suggest he will remain Verstappen’s teammate in 2027. Red Bull is hopeful that skipping Zandvoort will enable the 21-year-old to recover in time for Monza. The timing is particularly ironic for Lawson, who made his Formula 1 debut at Zandvoort three years ago after Daniel Ricciardo was sidelined due to a broken wrist. Red Bull did not confirm the news on Tuesday evening and did not provide any comment.
