Lewis Hamilton: I lost time stuck behind Charles.

Ferrari drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc finished fourth and fifth respectively in Zandvoort. Summarizing the weekend, Lewis stated that the time he lost behind his teammate was crucial in the battle for the podium.

Lewis Hamilton (4th): "First of all, I want to say that the team, the guys in the pits, did a great job with the pit stops, the strategy was very good, and the car handled excellently.

We are constantly closing the gap thanks to the updates, although we are still behind. In the first half of the season, we were losing between three to five tenths on the straights depending on the track, and such a gap is hard to make up in the corners. We are close to the goal, but today was definitely disappointing.

I race in Formula 1 for wins and believe that this team is capable of winning. Although we didn't manage to win today, it's important to earn points in every race for the title.

The last few races have been tough due to penalties and other issues, and today I lost a few seconds stuck behind Charles. I think that ultimately made a crucial difference. However, we will discuss all of this within the team.

My goal is to be the team leader and lead it to the title, but there is no doubt that we have a lot of work ahead."

Charles Leclerc (5th): "I didn't quite understand why I was called into the pits so soon after George Russell's pit stop, as it meant I would finish behind him, since in the last two or three laps I hardly had time to do anything, and I felt that the tire resources were far from exhausted.

Lewis and I had different strategies, but I thought it would be right to stay on track longer, but it turned out as it did.

I think we were just unlucky with the timing of the virtual safety car activation. And most importantly, I don't think we did well in qualifying, so today we paid the price for starting lower than we could have.

The next race will be in Monza, and it's a special race for Ferrari drivers, as well as for Kimi Antonelli, but I don't know what to expect. In Silverstone and Spa, which are similar in characteristics to Monza, we prepared for problems, but we were much stronger than expected.

I hope it will be the same in Monza, but right now I will say that we are in for a tough weekend. However, we are preparing updates, and I hope they will work."
