Kimi Antonelli: Right now our car is not the fastest.

      The world championship leader summed up a challenging Dutch weekend...

      Question: Kimi, how difficult was it for you to secure second place in the race?

      Kimi Antonelli: The second half of the race was tough, especially the stint on Hard – I didn't feel confident in the car. Then there was the final pit stop switching to Soft.

      I have to thank George, he made my life much easier. I think I could have stayed out on track and finished on the same set of tires – the risk wasn't that high. But we made George take the risk, asking him to let me pass and all that.

      In the end, the team did a great job considering the circumstances. I think second place is our maximum. The speed of the McLaren cars was too high for us, especially in the second half of the race.

      Question: Judging by the discussions with the team, you weren't too happy with the car's behavior. Was it like that throughout the race?

      Kimi Antonelli: No. The car behaved strangely. Everything was fine on the Medium tires, as well as on the first set of Hard, but on the second, the car was sliding a lot. We need to find the reason – the drop in pace was quite significant. But overall, I'm satisfied with second place.

      Question: Lando Norris was very fast in the race. How do you assess the threat from McLaren now?

      Kimi Antonelli: It's clear that our car is currently not the fastest. We're probably second or third in terms of speed, at least in today's race.

      McLaren made a huge step forward with the latest updates. But I believe in our team. We're working hard on the next package that will come soon, and for now, we're trying to get the most out of what we have. I hope when we introduce our updates, we'll have a slight advantage again.

      Question: Toto Wolff confirmed that you will receive a penalty for replacing the power unit in Monza. What do you think about that? Additionally, after the weekend, you leave with the same points gap as before; are you satisfied with how everything went in Zandvoort?

      Kimi Antonelli: Yes, it was a good finish to a challenging weekend. I faced certain difficulties, made a few mistakes in the sprint and qualifying, and I could have defended a bit better against Lando. There were definitely moments where I didn't perform well this weekend, and my feelings about the car weren't that great.

      The track in Monza is the best place to serve a penalty for an engine change. Of course, it's my home race and all that, but there's simply no better place for a penalty. I think even with the penalty, I will have a chance to achieve a great result and earn a lot of points.
