A unique first turn is being built on the track in Kiddia.
In Saudi Arabia, the construction of the Speed Park Track racetrack in Qiddiya continues. Photos published on social media, taken from an airplane, show the elevated structure of the first turn, named Blade, taking shape over the desert.
The track project was developed by the architectural firm of Hermann Tilke with the participation of former Formula 1 driver Alex Wurz. The structure of the first turn rises to a height of 70 meters, which is equivalent to more than 20 stories. In Qiddiya, they call their racetrack the first in the world with a section that rises above the ground without any supports below.
The length of the circuit will be 7.7 kilometers, the track will include 21 turns, the elevation change will be 108 meters, and the estimated maximum speed will exceed 325 km/h. Construction is expected to be completed in 2028, when Qiddiya is planned to replace the track in Jeddah on the Formula 1 calendar.
