The Pirelli tests have concluded in Mugello.

Today in Mugello, the second day of the latest series of Pirelli tire prototype tests for the 2027 season took place. As on the previous day, engineers and drivers worked with the three hardest slick compounds. Drivers from three teams took to the track – Lando Norris behind the wheel of McLaren, Ayumu Iwasa on Red Bull, and Nico Hülkenberg on Audi. The Japanese driver was the only one to test all three compounds, focusing on C1 and C2 in the morning, and then completing several runs on C3 in the afternoon. Norris dedicated the entire day to C2 tires, identifying the most promising options in the second half of the day. Hülkenberg split his program between C2 and C3. The best time of the second day of testing was set by Norris – 1:21.899, completing 115 laps or 603 kilometers. Iwasa recorded 1:23.414 and 614 kilometers, while Hülkenberg had 1:24.012 and 635 kilometers. Over the two days of testing in Mugello, where Oscar Piastri and Liam Lawson worked on Wednesday, a total of 2948 kilometers were covered. The next tests dedicated to the 2027 slicks will take place on September 15 and 16 in Imola, featuring Ferrari and Racing Bulls.
