Ukraine has filed an official complaint against the RAF with the FIA.

      The Automobile Federation of Ukraine (FAU) has filed an official complaint with the FIA Ethics Committee following the FIA's decision to lift the ban on the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in international competitions. The Ukrainian side demands an investigation into the Russian Automobile Federation (RAF).

      In the FAU's complaint, it is stated that the RAF has opened and continues to operate its representations in Crimea, Sevastopol, and the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. According to the Ukrainian side, these actions violate the FIA's statutes and the International Sporting Code, which stipulate the existence of only one national automobile federation in each country.

      The statement also notes that the head of the RAF, Boris Rotenberg, is under international sanctions imposed by the USA, the UK, the EU, and other countries.

      The FIA's decision to lift the ban on the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes followed a similar move by the International Olympic Committee.

      After amendments to the FIA statutes made last year, the federation's ethics committee is under the control of FIA President Mohammed ben Sulayem and his associate, FIA Senate President Carmelo Sansa de Barros.

      The FIA has not yet commented on receiving the complaint from the Ukrainian side.
