The most significant news and reviews about cars, no nonsense.

Among the topics that excite us at The Drive, one of the leading ones has to be the “unreasonably large number of obscure vehicles and parts available for sale in a field.” We often come across this, particularly with classic American cars (are Crown Vics old enough to be called “classic” yet?). Occasionally, we might stumble upon a haven for Porsche enthusiasts. However, Jeremiah Freeman’s “CRX Farm” in Kansas is unique, as it’s rare to see such an abundance of golden-era Hondas gathered in one location.

While “CRX Farm” has a nice ring to it, Jeremiah is somewhat downplaying his collection because it encompasses much more than just CRXs. According to his count, there are 67 second-generation hatches, 20 first-generation models, and 29 Del Sols. Additionally, there’s a variety of Civics, some Accords, Integras, and Preludes, along with the occasional Acura RSX. For those in need of parts for Honda’s more practical vehicles, there are also some CR-Vs, Elements, Odysseys, and a Pilot available.

Many of the vehicles in the field are not in a drivable condition, and Jeremiah notes that he seldom sells entire cars. Instead, the real value lies for anyone repairing their own older Honda or Acura looking for that elusive, hard-to-find part, especially since many of these vehicles are nearing 40 years old, with countless others having disappeared from the roads in the meantime. Just think about the last time you spotted an EF Civic Wagon casually driving around. Meet-ups don't count.

You might think that Jeremiah started this venture out of a longstanding passion for fun Hondas, but the transition happened in stages. Over ten years ago, after starting a new job that required him to drive 500 miles a week, he found himself searching for an economical daily driver. He discovered the CRX HF, a model that achieved 55 mpg when it was new, and drove it extensively.

Eventually, after a series of repairs, he acquired a parts car, and when he noticed limited interest in selling both CRXs in one piece, he started selling them for parts. “After a few months of selling parts locally on Craigslist, I quickly realized I was making more in parts than I initially paid for the car,” he shared with me in a direct message.

One event led to another, and today, his collection has expanded to around 275 Hondas. Although Jeremiah is a registered nurse and admits he’s “not very mechanical and couldn’t build a car to save my life,” the way he has maintained his own vehicles and provided the right parts to enthusiasts suggests otherwise.

“I have a couple of rules for conducting business,” Jeremiah told me. “Don’t be a jerk. Don’t waste my time. I’d estimate that about 60% struggle with this aspect.” Anyone who has ever attempted to sell anything online can probably relate. While the CRX Farm rarely sells whole cars, any that are operational with a clean title are not parted out.

Almost two years ago, YouTuber Caseys Customs visited the farm in Rossville, Kansas, to obtain some components for his rear-wheel-drive, V8-swapped CRX project. The video linked below offers a first-hand look at Jeremiah’s inventory from that time, which interestingly includes a few non-Honda vehicles, such as a Dodge Daytona IROC.

If you can’t travel to Kansas, that’s fine—Jeremiah ships parts globally. The Honda community is surely grateful for that. You can explore his extensive list of available items on his Facebook seller page.
