      Audi is gearing up for a development surge as its inaugural Formula 1 season begins to find stability, with a long-planned gearbox adjustment set for Monza, followed by a more extensive aerodynamic upgrade at Baku. According to Motorsport-Magazin, Audi will roll out updated gear ratios in Italy after engineers determined earlier in the season that the first gear was too short and the eighth gear too long. This modification has taken about 24 weeks to produce, with Audi utilizing the special gearbox-ratio allowance permitted under the new regulations.

      Audi has already enhanced its launch performance since the introduction of a smaller turbocharger in Barcelona, though the report indicates that clutch hardware and control still require improvement. A more significant visual update is anticipated in Baku.

      Despite much of Audi's developmental focus shifting towards 2027, Motorsport-Magazin mentions that the R26 will receive a significant aerodynamic refresh there, with an insider stating that the car is expected to look "completely different." This comes as Audi's recent form has notably improved, securing points in each of the last four races after experiencing seven consecutive scoreless outings earlier in the season.

      In light of the latest developments in the driver market, Audi senior member Allan McNish has expressed contentment with Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto. "I think we’re very fortunate, to be honest with you, with Nico and Gabi, because they complement each other very well," said McNish. "As I stand here today, I think actually, for us and where we are, it is the perfect combination."
