Tim Goss on preparing Racing Bulls for the Italian Grand Prix

      The Chief Technical Officer of Racing Bulls, Tim Goss, spoke about the features of the racing weekend in Monza and the team's preparation for the home stage of the season.

      Tim Goss: "The European part of the 2026 season will continue at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, which is home for our team. The track is known for its long straights, intense braking zones, chicanes, as well as medium-speed and fast corners.

      Traditionally, teams have chosen low downforce setups in Monza to find the optimal balance between cornering speed and straight-line speed. However, due to significant changes in the regulations, in 2026 we will face entirely new challenges in Monza.

      The characteristics of the track still make the power unit's power and aerodynamic efficiency important, but due to the higher role of the hybrid component, special attention will need to be paid to the efficiency of the electric part of the power unit to maximize straight-line speed.

      Speaking of the car, we will bring several new aerodynamic solutions. They should enhance the overall efficiency of the car and improve aerodynamic efficiency when exiting corners.

      Pirelli will bring the softest compounds C3, C4, and C5. All three should be suitable for use during the race, so we estimate that the strategy will involve one or two pit stops depending on how well the teams can manage tire wear.

      We are in for a busy weekend, during which we need to find a way to get the most out of the car.

      Yuki Tsunoda will continue to race for our team as Isaac Hajar is still recovering from a wrist injury. Last week, Yuki performed excellently, and we have no doubt that he will deliver a similar result this weekend."
