Lando Norris: I don't think we can fight for pole.
Lando Norris showed the fourth fastest time in the second practice of the Italian Grand Prix. The McLaren driver is unhappy with the car's speed and doubts he will be able to fight for pole position in qualifying. His teammate Oscar Piastri finished the practice with the sixth fastest time.
Lando Norris (4th): "Actually, the day didn't go very well. To be honest, we are lacking speed in the corners where we expected to be fast. But at the same time, in the corners where we anticipated problems, the car turned out to be not so bad.
Overall, we are still behind the leaders, so we are not in the best position right now. We'll see what we can change overnight, but the remaining days of the weekend will be tougher than in previous races.
I don't know what result we will achieve in qualifying. The competition is very tight, but I don't think we will be able to fight for pole. Nevertheless, we will try to achieve a good result."
Oscar Piastri (6th): "The first day in Monza is over. We learned quite a lot and gathered a large amount of information, so now we have a good base for further work this evening. We still have a lot to do and improve, as we are currently lacking speed.
In the evening, we will focus on finding extra speed, and then we'll see what else can be done with the car in the third practice before qualifying."
