      Los hackers piratearon el sitio web de la FIA, en el que se almacenaba información confidencial, datos personales y documentos de los pilotos, incluido Max Verstappen. Así lo informó en su blog el investigador de seguridad Ian Carroll.

      Según su información, la FIA corrigió las vulnerabilidades en sus sistemas inmediatamente después de que él y otros dos investigadores se pusieran en contacto con la federación en junio. A su vez, la FIA confirmó el hecho del ataque y señaló que se tomaron medidas para proteger los datos de los pilotos y que remitió la información a las autoridades.

      Entre los datos a los que tuvieron acceso los hackers había pasaportes, currículums, información sobre licencias de competición y datos personales de identificación.

      «En verano la FIA tuvo conocimiento de un incidente cibernético relacionado con el sitio de la FIA dedicado a la información sobre los pilotos», dice la declaración de la federación. «Se tomaron medidas inmediatas para proteger los datos de los pilotos, y la FIA informó de este problema a las autoridades competentes de protección de datos de conformidad con sus obligaciones.

      La FIA también notificó a un pequeño número de pilotos afectados por este incidente. Otras plataformas digitales de la FIA no resultaron afectadas por el incidente».
