      Alex Albon, hablando con la prensa en el autódromo de Sao Paulo, volvió a subrayar que ahora la tarea principal de Williams es seguir con la preparación para 2026. Aunque terminar la temporada en el quinto puesto del campeonato de constructores también es importante.

      Alex Albon: «En general la situación es normal, pero creo que se puede decir que ahora es un periodo en el que el equipo ya se ha volcado principalmente en la creación del coche para el año siguiente. A eso se le presta mucha más atención, pero aun así queremos mantenernos en el quinto puesto del Campeonato de Constructores.

      Algunas de las carreras anteriores se disputaron en circuitos específicos —me refiero tanto a Austin como a México— donde tuve dificultades relacionadas con el balance del coche. Resumiendo, creo que hemos podido analizar todo en detalle, desmontamos completamente el coche, y el equipo ha trabajado muy bien intentando averiguar la causa de los problemas.

      Creo que hemos identificado multitud de matices distintos, lo hemos sumado todo, y pienso que, en general, estamos bien orientados para el trabajo y preparados para la prueba brasileña. Ahora nuestra tarea es actuar de forma clara y eficaz todos los días del próximo fin de semana.

      Creo que las dificultades se manifestaron solo en las dos pruebas anteriores, y la temporada en general la estamos afrontando con bastante solidez, por lo que ahora es importante simplemente volver al ritmo anterior. No deberíamos tener problemas especiales para regresar al nivel de resultados previo; no tendremos que hacer nada extraordinario, y el enfoque para configurar el coche seguirá siendo prácticamente el mismo que ha sido durante todo el año».

      En 2024 Albon no pudo participar en el Gran Premio de Sao Paulo, ya que destrozó seriamente el coche en la fase final de la clasificación, y hoy le preguntaron si piensa arriesgar de la misma manera que entonces o si ajustará un poco su enfoque.

      «El año pasado hasta cierto punto todo iba muy bien y luego la situación cambió —respondió el piloto de Williams—. Es un circuito interesante, pero hace un año por él corrían auténticos ríos de agua, además había muchos baches en el asfalto. Ahora en algunos tramos se ha renovado el pavimento, así que es interesante ver si se ha vuelto más uniforme. Aun así, el asfalto aquí es algo extraño.

      No quiero recordar lo ocurrido el año pasado, pero pienso que, si hablamos con realismo, el enfoque debe seguir siendo el mismo, sobre todo porque entonces identificamos ciertas deficiencias del coche que, entre otras cosas, fueron factores que provocaron el accidente.

      Aunque en realidad me gusta este circuito, y preferiría correr aquí bajo la lluvia antes que en asfalto seco.
