Ocon was present in Maranello for Hamilton's initial day.

Esteban Ocon stated that he was "fortunate" to be at Maranello during Lewis Hamilton’s momentous first official day as a Ferrari driver.

The first day for the seven-time world champion, along with his initial official photo, his first Fiorano test, and his first crash with Ferrari this week in Barcelona, has been the center of attention in the Formula 1 news.

Toto Wolff, Hamilton's former team principal, remarked that the image of Hamilton outside Enzo Ferrari’s residence next to an F40 supercar was "iconic," a sentiment echoed by Enzo's son Piero.

"I could hardly believe the excitement," Piero Ferrari, 79, shared with Italy’s Autosprint when reflecting on Hamilton’s first day. "The true passion of the Tifosi really impressed me."

Piero Ferrari also noted his admiration for Hamilton's demeanor. "I don’t recall other drivers being as graceful on their first day at Ferrari," he confessed. "Even we, as managers, didn’t wear ties," he chuckled.

Furthermore, Red Bull's Christian Horner expressed his enthusiasm regarding Hamilton’s new chapter in red. "Those red overalls suit him well," he reportedly said to Sky Italia.

"It’s fantastic for our sport. Ferrari, Red Bull, Mercedes, and McLaren will all be competitive. It’s going to be an intense and remarkable battle."

Regarding Ocon’s presence at Maranello for Hamilton’s debut, he was engaged with the Ferrari simulator as part of the collaboration between the two teams.

"I was fortunate to be at the same place on the same day because I was in the Ferrari simulator," the Frenchman, who will transition from Alpine to Ferrari-powered Haas in 2025, told Canal Plus.

"It’s amazing to witness so much passion for Ferrari and for F1 globally, and that this passion continues to grow."

Ocon is recognized for his close relationship with Hamilton. "It’s clear," the 28-year-old explained, "that having the best driver of our generation in the most successful team is something remarkable."
