Haas will meet the budget cap for the first time in 2025.

Haas is facing a new luxury challenge for 2025 – staying within Formula 1's budget cap. Team principal Ayao Komatsu revealed that this season marks the first time in Haas' ten-year history that the operational budget is substantial enough to potentially exceed the cap. This change is due to increased sponsorship, greater official F1 revenue, and the ambitious new involvement of Toyota.

"This year will be the first instance where Gene (Haas) doesn’t need to invest his own funds," Komatsu stated. "We hadn't previously reached the budget limit, but this year we are approaching it.

"We now have a new challenge to ensure we remain within the limit," he added with a smile. Haas continues to be the smallest team in F1, with only 330 employees, compared to over 1,000 in larger teams.

Even with the increased budget, Komatsu noted that the team will largely stick to its current strategy. "Some things are simply clear," he explained. "It's much more advantageous to keep sourcing components from Ferrari. We still depend on Maranello as well as external manufacturing and other resources.

"We’re making more developments this year, so we need to enhance our efficiency even further."
