Claire Dubbelman is deputy race director

The FIA is strengthening its race management structure with six senior staff and a large race team, including a remote operations center in Geneva. Following recent announcements of changes, the FIA has decided to keep Rui Marques as race director for the time being, appointing Claire Dubbelman as his deputy. Rui Marques took over as F1 race director last year, replacing Nils Wittich, who was sacked before the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The Portuguese led the final three rounds in 2024 and, according to The Race, will retain his post in early 2025. Claire Dubbelman is a graduate of the FIA's Officials Performance Program, and in the future the FIA wants to have enough staff to rotate race directors and possibly replace them if one of the principals becomes unavailable for work. To that end, the program has 12 new students - six stewards and six race directors.
