Villeneuve, Button and Chadwick are Williams team ambassadors
Williams Racing has announced that Jenson Button and Jamie Chadwick will remain ambassadors for the team this season, but they will also be joined by Jacques Villeneuve, the 1997 world champion. The Canadian made his Formula 1 debut for the team in 1996 and became vice-world champion that season and won the title the following season. His first two seasons with Williams were his best, and now he returns to the British team in a new capacity. In 2025, the year Formula 1 celebrates its 75th anniversary, it will be a quarter-century since Jenson Button made his world championship debut, who also started his career with the team. Jamie Chadwick, a three-time Women's W Series champion now competing in the American Indy NXT Youth Series, has been with Williams since 2019. In addition, she also serves as a consultant for the F1 Academy Women's Championship. James Vowles, Team Principal: "Having Jenson, Jacques and Jamie working with us in 2025 is a real privilege. Together they will perfectly represent this legendary team, the history we are writing and its traditions, including the fact that we are investing in future champions by giving them access to motorsport. We are determined to write a new chapter in Williams' history. Jacques Villeneuve: "Williams is an extremely important part of my life and it is full of great memories. I'm delighted to be part of this family again, to help the team pay tribute to its history but also to build its future." Jenson Button: "It was at Williams that I had the opportunity to make my Formula 1 debut, and it's incredibly exciting to be celebrating the 25th anniversary of that event in 2025. I'm honored to be an ambassador for this team and I'm excited to continue to be a part of shaping its future."
